Random Thoughts (A Thomas Sowell inspiration)

-It’s not Facebook or the government that’s censoring free speech. It is the regular independent citizens who are.  We have established a society where its discouraged to speak your mind. The free flow of ideas and contradicting opinions is something that has progressed society forward. However, now we have discouraged it, and we are suffering.

-Instead of actually debating our ideals, we have devolved ourselves into name calling and slander. Many people believe that their thoughts and ideas are an extension of themselves and our tied into their identify.  What this ultimately leads to is emotionally charged debates that lead nowhere.

-Most debates are emotionally charged, but they should be backed in empirical evidence. Most will cite studies and data to back up their argument. There are some that argue on the behalf of anecdotal experiences. These are both concrete examples that one can use to back up their stance on an issue.

-Liberals are not bad people, conservatives are not bad people. You may think their ideas are bad, but don’t just jump to the conclusion that they are bad people automatically. Take the time to understand why they think the way they do. Their experiences are independent of your own, and you can learn something from them. Everybody on this planet has their own individual experiences. Knowledge is dispersed throughout a society, it is not held by an anointed elite few.

-America is a country of rebels and hell raisers that were willing to go to war with an established nation like England for it’s independence.. We should be revel in our differences and open up the floor to debate and progression, not hate and animosity.

-Some people look down on social media, but it is the present and the future. Social media is the best way to get your point across in the digital age. It is also the best way to communicate to people across the world. There are people that I have never met in person, but I feel I know them very well. This is a great thing, and something that should be celebrated.

-I am delighted have a digital footprint. There is only one Morgan Kimbarow in the world (trust me I know). In 500 years, I will probably not have a physical presence on this earth. (or technology will prove me wrong). Somebody can google my name and see what I have done and the things I have written. If I had left a spark I think that would be quite all right and I would not be opposed to have hopefully inspired others.
