Here are 3 of Contemporary Communism’s biggest, most damaging lies and the simple, self-evident truth that can fully disarm them:
LIE #1: “Global Warming is caused by industrial-society’s carbon emissions and will result in catastrophe!”
The truth that disables this lie:
- Carbon dioxide isn’t a pollutant. It’s basically airborne plant food. The world gets greener when carbon dioxide levels go up. The evidence of this is literally written in stone: The fossil record.
- Cyclical climate change is Earth’s normal; the record of which, again, is literally written in stone. The fossil record of warming and cooling predates human industrial activity by eons.
- The “scientists” promoting climate alarmism have been caught fudging data and records.
- The dire predictions made by the climate alarmists have been consistently wrong for decades.
- The glaciers on which “scientists” have reported represent a tiny fraction of Earth’s glaciers and have been carefully chosen for the pattern that supports their narrative. (Of 160,000 glaciers in the world, fewer than 1000 have been studied. Most have been found to expand and contract in a discernable pattern.)
- While it’s theoretically possible to heat water by application of hot air, the heat required to raise the temperature of an ocean by even one degree would make the landmass of our planet unlivable long before the ocean life was impacted (by heat).
Don’t take my word for it: Test this: Try warming your bathwater by turning your thermostat up rather than by using the water heater. Tell us how long it took and at what temp did your house need to be to get your bath water from room-temp (72 or so) to bath temp (102 or so).
LIE #2 : “Wealth is a limited resource – if government doesn’t see to its ‘fair’ distribution, greedy rich people will get it all!”
The truth that disables this lie:
- Wealth is a result of accumulating the economic value of providing products or services others want and need. It’s not a resource, limited or otherwise.
- Poverty is not an insufficiency of other people’s earnings. If it were, it could (and long ago would have been) solved by giving impoverished people money. Poverty is an insufficiency of produced value on the part of the person suffering it. A person in a state of poverty must either produce more or use less value. Subsidizing poverty by force-of-law simply creates more of it.
- Centrally-controlled economies – because they destroy INCENTIVE – are excessively focused on re-arranging wealth and too little focused its creation. They decline as a result
LIE #3 : “Income inequality is symptom of Capitalism’s massive injustice and corruption“
The truth that disables this lie:
- When people are free to do so, they make their own choices about how to live their lives.
- The natural diversity of human values, priorities, skills, aptitudes, talents and circumstance will manifest in a greatly varied tapestry of economic pursuits and lifestyles.
- It is not possible to equalize income, outcome or circumstance without preventing the variety of choice (liberty) that produces variation of income, outcome and lifestyle
- While the standing of each person’s natural rights must be EQUAL UNDER LAW if we are to remain free, the people, themselves, are obviously not equal at all!
- Each human being is an entirely unique individual; a ‘custom mix’ of genetic, social, psychological and other factors. It is entirely absurd to expect that unique and free human beings will generate anything but widely divergent results in their lives; economically and otherwise.
- The measure of economic justice is not equality but economic mobility; the relative ease with which people are able to mount an economic ladder and ascend.
- It is economic mobility that empowers a person to improve his standing. The irony of most Socialist economic prescriptions is that they REDUCE the number of pathways available to the individual. Wage control, for instance, greatly reduces the number of entry-level jobs available.
- Income inequality isn’t a problem to be solved by force of law. It’s a natural and expected manifestation of human nature
The function of each of Communism’s lies is to JUSTIFY MASSIVE CENTRAL CONTROL.
We know that the truth disables lies.
But truth must be deployed with clarity and conviction to do so. It cannot be diluted with the seeming concession of “yea, but…” acquiescence. It must be deployed full strength.
It’s on us to disarm and disable contemporary Communism’s pernicious lies, especially within our own circle of family and friends. Doing so without apology is mission-critical to preserving American liberty.
