Irreconcilable Differences

Over the last few years, culminating in the last few months, we have seen a break-down of our social contract, along with the abject failure of our governmental systems.  Is it time for a divorce, citing the reason as ‘irreconcilable differences’?  Let’s dig.

1.  FISA abuse to spy upon opposing party communications

2.  Unmasking General Michael Flynn

3.  ‘Perjury Trapping’ Flynn, knowing he was guilty of no crime

4.  Publicly accusing Trump of everything, including treason, yet under oath, admitting they had NO evidence of criminality

5.  Impeaching President Donald Trump, in spite of no specific crime mentioned in the Articles of Impeachment

6.  Calling Trump a xenophobic racist by shutting down travel between China (and eventually Europe) due to the COVID-19 outbreak.  Then later saying Trump was too slow to react to the crisis!

7.  Blue State Governors taking extreme, extra-Constitutional ‘measures’ to combat COVID-19.

8.  Blue State Governors keeping their States’ economies virtually closed, based upon no known science

9.  The same Blue State Governors allowing, if not endorsing, rioting, arson, and wanton mayhem, as ‘protests’ regarding the death of multiple-felon George Floyd, as a ‘White cop kills Black man’ theme

10.  Blue State Washington allowing Antifa/Black Lives Matter group to occupy seven blocks of downtown Seattle.  The mayor was even keeping the occupiers in food and water.

11.  Blue State Governors allowing BLM activists to destroy State and Federal statues at will, with little or no resistance.

12.  An alarming lack of police presence, arrests, or even admonishments, of the activists in 9, 10, and 11.

So, in Blue States, ‘legal’ means something entirely different than in Red States.  At the Federal level, ‘legal’ means ‘whatever you can get away with’.  If there is a common ground area for compromise of these issues, I just don’t see it.  Maybe it is time to make one country into two—Blue States can run things their way, the rest of us can return to the rule of law.  Any objections, Your Honor?
