Are you tired of having social justice and virtue signalling rammed down your throat in your typical Hollywood movies and television shows? There are many who say Hollywood is incapable of making an entertaining movies that focus on individual freedom over government control. As an example, see how badly they turned Atlas Shrugged into a completely unwatchable movie. I say there are unintended libertarian movies and shows that happen to be entertaining. Here is a list of great movies and television shows with strong libertarian messages and settings:
- The World’s End (Movie/Comedy)
- Serenity (Movie/Sci-Fi)
- Braveheart (Movie/Action)
- The Seven Samurai (Movie/Action)
- Team America: World Police (Movie/Comedy)
- Children of Paradise (Movie/Drama)
- The Fountainhead (Movie/Drama)
- The Hunger Games (Movie Series/Sci-Fi)
- Firefly (Television Series/Sci-Fi)
- A Clockwork Orange (Movie/Sci-Fi)
My favorite among these include the movie Serenity which is a based upon a short-lived television series called Firefly about a rag-tag group of space cowboys trying to make ends meet while dodging the control of the authorities. It is sentimental with great stories and characters.
Don’t forget the 2003ish Battlestar Galactica mini series and the full series using the same actors.
Differs from the original as both Starbuck and Boomer are female
Yeah, I’m a brown coat to the core. Good list.
There is definitely some classics up there. Others I am going to have to check out! Thanks for sharing.
