All who know history have learned that the one thing all tyrants have in common is this: They don’t ask citizens if they agree, what they think, or even if they want. Tyrants just do…and usually at the bang-bang-hurt end of a gun and the chop-chop-head-gone edge of a sword.
It’s one thing to study history and opine about it in a scholarly way once it is over. It is quite another to watch it play out disgustingly before our horrified eyes.
- The pageantry and feel-good platitudes accompanied by shows of force as tyrants protect themselves with armies whose very loyalty they question.
- The not-so-veiled threatening speeches aimed at the entire population (including their own followers who little know it), designed to foment conflict and uttered with all the sincerity of cold steel.
- The targeting of an identified and demonized enemy and the unrelenting attacks on them with messaging designed to separate and destabilize populations.
- Removing access to communication methods, or with arrest, no time is wasted in shutting down all dissenting voices no matter where they are found by threatening loss of income and reputation.
Yes, visions dance in their heads of fawning and submissive citizens lining the streets in parades like had been done for their political ancestors Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Amin, Jinping, but now are for them, all for them. “Oh, glory to us! Are we not magnificent?” they boast, swaggering and gloating in their conquest.
The New Job Search
Then we have all these C-Suite types auditioning for positions in that new government by taking it upon themselves to organize, report, and enforce illegal policies on their employees and customers little realizing they themselves are nothing but dupes. They best be warned now not to swell their heads too big or they will be removed of those heads by the ruling elite in Chop Chop Square.
Shaming and banning
Continuing apace are the shaming and banning of products and companies (as examples Goya Foods, MyPillow.com, and Parler.com, among many others) unless they comply with the new political correctness, and the shuttering of small businesses with heavy-handed and illogical regulations (restaurants, hair salons, gyms, to name a very few types) that change on a whim to suit politicians and advance their power agendas as they remind citizens of their place: they are none.
Rule of Law is scoffed at.
Working together for the benefit of all is scorned. Instead of elevating, they weaken high values, good morals, and civic virtues. They overtax, inflate costs, and further corrupt the very foundations of government. These wicked people create urban decay, sprinkle tidbits around for the frightened, punish the defiant, and divide a strong country. They only know how to play games that destroy.
They do not know how to build.
As summarized here, part of Psalm 73 says: But God has placed the wicked on slippery ground and when they fall they will be astonished and their terror sudden. And those who acted violently, treacherously, and those who scoffed and preened in their immorality will be silenced every one.
Students of history know this is so. The march of world powers has seen unrelenting attacks on people of goodwill and believers in Almighty God. So, while we wait for God to make changes to the balance of power, we keep the faith, we do our best, we push back strong, we keep to the rule of law excepting where it goes against God and common sense.
Former advisor to President Trump — among a long list of other things he’s been — is one Sebastian Gorka. Gorka’s parents fled a Communist regime, a story he relates on his show. He takes calls all the time from people who despair, who throw up their hands in surrender, who want to quit. He is not the only show host to hear this.
But more importantly, some of these callers do not understand the concept of never giving up the fight. Seb gets quite irritated with that mindset because it does not lead to a successful conclusion in the safeguarding of justice and freedom.
Gorka tells those callers and, by extension, all his listeners/viewers to do something. Stop whining and do something.
Now, we can’t all run for office.
We can’t all write. We can’t all host shows or podcasts. We can’t all travel to rallies. We can’t all set up nonprofits or think tanks or do in-depth research, etcetera. But we can all, each of us, do at least one particular thing. Each can support those who are making a larger reach. On Global Liberty Media here and here and here, we find:
Share what you read if you find it uplifting and valuable in the fight for freedom and justice. Sharing amplifies logical thinking and hopeful messaging thus bringing hope to others.
Stand strong in the place where you are. Be righteously angry but don’t be shortsightedly stupid or insulting. The goal is to save those who’ve been misled not put them in their place, and to help destabilize the radical elements.
Bloom large where you stand. Remind yourself why freedom and justice are important to you and that those contribute to a stable foundation in communities, counties, states, and countries.
Pray to Almighty God above and read His book. That will reinforce the strength inside you by reminding that the fight for Good has always been with us and that we cannot relax our vigil.
And we can remember this is all just a little bit of history repeating, so, hang on to your hats but do not give up.
