Bernie Takes New Hampshire

Socialist Bernie Sanders has been declared the winner in New Hampshire with Mayor Pete Buttigieg a close second. Just a short time ago, it would seem unfathomable that the Democratic primary would be led by a field consisting of three avowed socialists (Sanders, Buttigieg, and Warren) and two billionaires (Bloomberg and Steyer). It is worth mentioning that a long-shot Senator from Minnesota, Amy Klobuchar who did surprisingly well coming in at third place in New Hampshire. The support for socialists leading in the DNC primaries are unfathomable to most Americans as there is almost universal economic consensus that their socialist policies will harm the economy with decreased US GDP, lower the wages and earnings of all Americans, higher taxes, and the effect of crushing inefficiency of government redistribution schemes and runaway spending programs. Wall Street is betting on a re-election of Donald Trump.

Of the two billionaires, most see Michael Bloomberg as having a better chance than Tom Steyer in the DNC primaries. Bloomberg believes that he is the Democratic billionaire best suited to beating a Republican billionaire. However, being a billionaire will be distasteful to the socialist left which dominate the DNC ideology nowadays along with his stated beliefs that most Americans are stupid (a stance similar to Hillary Clinton) and that he himself knows what’s good for people in general. There is also a strong anti-semitic trend among the Democratic left which takes away any support for Bloomberg.

At this juncture, many political pundits are predicting a brokered DNC convention with candidates going in without a clear leader. For my part, I’d say there is still some time to go and popularity of candidates will ebb and flow but there will likely be a leading candidate going into the convention.
